Traditional Worship Our 8:15 worship is shaped by Lutheran liturgy and enhanced with the recent purchase of the new Lutheran hymnal: Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW). This service is more formal and generally includes organ accompaniment. The choir leads this service and sometimes sings at the late service. Music is also provided by the Joyful Noise Bell Choir once a month. You are invited to stay for coffee and fresh baked cookies afterward in the Fellowship Hall.
Contemporary Worship The 10:45 worship is led by one of our two bands: The Way (adult folk band) or The Ark (youth band). This service borrows music from a variety of sources in contemporary culture, but is still structured with a confession and forgiveness, hearing God's Word and sharing in Holy Communion. All lyrics for music are projected on the screen for this service.
Why do we worship?
Worshipping God is central to our identity and reason for being at Holy Cross. God is the one who gave us life, established a relationship with us, continues in that relationship even when we go our separate ways, and empowers us to live out our calling as disciples of our Lord. In worship, we fulfill our calling as God's people to give praise to our God, hear God's Word to us, celebrate the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion, and be sent forth in our daily lives.
What should I wear?
Holy Cross welcomes all people, as fellow pilgrims on the journey of faith. Come as you are to worship! Wear what's comfortable for you as you worship the living God. Invite your friends to come, too!
- Kids sing the last Sunday of each month ! On these Sundays, the children will provide special music for worship. Our children are not just the future of the church; they have much to offer the community of faith today!
