MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES AT HOLY CROSS, 2008

At Holy Cross   we welcome your participation in music during worship, and one of the foremost ways we worship God is by singing hymns and songs as part of the congregation.   For those who desire to participate in a more in-depth and focused manner, we offer the following musical opportunities:

CHANCEL CHOIR

• Adults and students ninth grade and older
• Rehearses Wednesday evenings during the school year
• Sings at the 8:15 service three Sundays per month
• Sings for special services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday) and at care centers
• Seasonal Choir at Christmas and Easter, for those who want a shorter time commitment

HANDBELL CHOIR (JOYFUL NOISE)

• Adults and students ninth grade and older
• Rehearses every other Wednesday evening during the school year
• Plays at the 8:15 service one Sunday per month
• Plays for special services (Christmas Eve, ordination)

YOUTH BELL CHOIR (RAINBOW RINGERS)

• Youth in grades 5-9
• Rehearses on Wednesdays before H2H (Confirmation)
• Plays at the 10:45 service one Sunday per month

CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP TEAM (THE WAY)

• Adults and students ninth grade and older
• Plays for the 10:45 service during the school year, and monthly during the summer
• Plays for special events (Rally Day)
• Requirements: skill and experience in playing guitar, drums, keyboard, brass; skill and experience in singing

YOUTH BAND (THE ARK)

• Middle School and Senior High youth
• Rehearses on Wednesdays at 4:00 p.m.
• Plays for H2H on Wednesday evenings, and occasionally for the 10:45 service

INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL "SPECIAL" MUSIC

• Any age
• Play or sing during 8:15 and 10:45 services
• Play or sing for special services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday)
• Accompany groups and ensembles
• Be a part of an as-yet-to-be-formed group, such as an orchestra, recorder ensemble, accordion band, vocal ensemble

MUSIC MINISTRY SUPPORT

Behind-the-scenes opportunities for:

• Music filing and preparation
• Equipment setup and teardown
• Power point operators
• Sound equipment technicians
• Record keeping (computer), correspondence
• Telephoning
• and last and most important is prayer support. We covet your prayers for all aspects of the music ministry.
